Laughing, Vera reached into the closet and searched around until she found a raincoat. It was bright yellow and looked like one of those raincoats that you see in movies. Vera loved it. "Check this out!" she said, slipping the jacket on over her shirt. She probably looked like an idiot but she didn't care.
"Damn, Shannon! You look mighty fine." she said with another giggle. Shannon looked absolutely adorable in her raincoat and Vera wouldn't let her forget it nay time soon.

She looked away modestly. "Ready to go?" She put her hand on the cool brass handle of the old mahogany door. It opened with a creak and she stared out into the rain. The street was covered in puddles and the trees beside her house drooled rain onto the sidewalk. A car passed by, disrupting the pooling water and sending it splattering against its shining sides. "Yuck."

"Oh hells yeah, I'm ready!" Vera squealed. This was going to be fun. She could see it now, she and Shannon would trapse all around Ireland getting into some tomfoolery and maybe even adopting a flock of sheep! Oh yes, adotping sheep would be the highlight of Vera's entiure sixteen years of exsistence.
She followed Shannon outside and was just about to bring up the idea of adopting a flock of sheep when a car drove into a puddle. As it zoomed by, it splashed mud all over Vera's raincoat. She looked down and then at Shannon and burst into a fit of laughter. "Well, that's just smashing isn't it?" she said through spurts of laughter.

She covered her mouth, suppressing fits of laughter. "Vera, you look..." This was definately the most entertaining thing she had experianced this summer. She cleared her throat, regaining composure, still grinning. "Let's go." She giggled again, "The rain will wash it off. Oh, Vera, don't forget that there are Muggles everywhere. Keep the wand on the down low for now."
Shannon straightened her own coat which was already slick with rain and peered down the street, deciding which way to go first.

Vera stopped laughing and shook her head. "Man, aren't you glad I've come to Ireland? Who else would make you laugh like that?" she said still giggling. "Don't worry. I'm still only sixteen and legally can't perform magic outside of school until October." she said a bit sadly. She hate dbeing younger then everyone else. It was a total pain.
She grinned a bit at the thought of Muggles. She loved Muggles. They were so clueless at times. Her Aunt Reed was a Muggle and still jumped a bit when one of Vera's parents or if her Uncle used magic. It definately got a few laughs out of everyone.

Laughing again Shannon said, "Where to? We could just head into town and wander around. Unless there's a particular place you want to go." She looked up and down the street.
Muggles were busy as usual, out and about in the rain. Some were on their way to and from work. Some were out shopping or walking their children or dogs. Every other Irish person thought nothing of the rain. "Am I the only one who's bothered by the wetness?" She muttered as another car passed by.

Vera nodded. "Yes, let's just wander around for a bit." she said. Her blue eyes searched the street. Dublin was so gorgeous. She didn't know why the Irish always complained about the rain. It made all of the green just stand out. It was absolutely beautiful.
She chuckled at Shannon's comment about the rain. "I think so." she said, still enchanted by what she saw. She hadn't been in Ireland that long and already she loved it. It was much quieter compared to England.

Shannon smiled. "Let's go, then." She started to walk down the sidewalk, watching her boots splash through the puddles. At the corner of the street she looked both ways before trodding through the water-covered road and hopping up on the opposite side. Turning left, she began down the next street.
It was a popular street for shopping, and she was glad that she lived nearby. She sped her pace a bit so that she could stand beneath the overhang of the first shop on the street. It was a diner. Water splashed on either side of the small ledge she stood under. Shivvering, she turned to Vera.

Nodding, Vera followed her friend and the two made their way through Dublin. She was in awe as they walked around. She had to stop and look at each window display for each store that they passed. Dublin was adorable. Vera smiled and waved at each Muggle that she passed, most of them looked at her like she's crazy.
She saw a muggle woman and her young son walking past her and she smiled and and said "Top of the morning!" to the little boy. The woman grabbed her son and hurried him along saying "See, Johnny, that's what drugs do to you..". Vera couldn't help but laugh at that. She searched around and spotted her friend on the other side of the street. She had been around Muggles plenty of times, just never in Ireland. It was all so strange to her when really, Ireland wasn't that much different then england. But, of course Vera didn't think so. To her, Ireland was the most amazing place in the world.
She quickly hurried across the street and ducked under the overhang where Shannon stood. "Ooh, look!" she said putting er face up against the window of the diner. There was a little old man sitting at the table closest to the window. She waved to him and he just stared at her as if she were insane. "Look at how cute he is." she cooed to Shannon and continued to wae at the old man who looked as if he was going to have a heartattack from the "crazy blonde lass" who was waving to him.

"Er..." Shannon said, looking away from the window, "That's Mr. MacArthy from down the street..." She grabbed the sleeve of Vera's coat and pulled. "Let's go!" She looked guiltily back at her neighbors face and mouthed, Sorry...
"Come on Vera, let's find something to do." She looked around and noticed that the rain was getting lighter, but a heavy fog was rolling off the pavement. "Ireland can't entertain you THAT much, can it?"

She was dragged away from the diner by Shannon and pulled down the street. She looked up and noticed that the rain was starting to lighten up. Smiling, she let Shannon continue to drag her down the street. "Actually, yes. Ireland can entertain me that much, Shannon." she said. Shannon wnated to find something to do. She stopped to think for a moment.
Her face lit up as she had another brilliant idea. "How far away did you say the Guiness Brewery was?" she asked with a huge grin. She'd always wanted to visit the Guiness Brewery but had never had the chance to go to Ireland. Until now...

"It's that big building about five blocks from here." She said, pointing. "If we go, you have to behave!" She said, smiling dubiously. She watched as cars passed by. The fog was growing thick and almost ankle deep. She noticed it was covering all of the puddles when a car sped by and disrupted the finally still pool of water closest to her.
She ducked away from the flying water, pouting.

Vera cupped her hand over her eyes and tried to see if she could spot the brewery. No luck. "I'll be have. Don't you worry your pretty little head." she said, patting Shannon on the head. She wasn't lying. She would definately try to be on her best behaviour. It was her first time visiting Ireland. How much would it suck if she had been kicked out of the country forever after her first visit?
She jumped out of the way as the car sped by. She narrowly missed being splashed again. "Thank God. One puddle incident is enough for the day." she said as the car sped on.
