Dear Vera,
Girl, I miss you! Summer vacation is the WORST. Tell me where you are, how you are, what you're doing, EVERYTHING!
I'm in Ireland all alone. Well, technically not alone, just away from friends. Every year it's the same thing on summer break; I just want to get back to Hogwarts! I'm not good with isolation. Isn't it sad that this is our last year? It's depressing to think about. We have to go out with a bang! Haha, yeah right...
Anyway, I hope you're well. And I hope that you write back soon! Being stuck in rainy Ireland... it does things to me.
Yours Sincerely, Shannon Green

Shannon,
Not as much as I miss you!!! Sadly, I'm just at home contemplating suicide because I'm so damn bored! Contemplating, wow, that's a big word for me....
Anywhoo, the only "exciting" thing that happened this summer was one of Gerry's Muggle friend's weddings. I'd never been to a Muggle wedding before and it was actually really fun. Now Gerry is over by my place and is being a bum and won't do anything other than eat and sleep. But, Ireland is supossedly very beautiful. Sadly, I've never been there. I've always wanted to go there though and if I ever do I'll definately visit you and we'll eat potatoes together!
I can't wait until September 1st! I miss you, Shannon!
Your Pal, Vera Claythorne

Dear Vera,
Wow! I expected something a lot more exciting from you, but don't think I'm dissappointed. I was glad to get your letter. It broke my sort of 'trance' that I go into when I'm away from human contact for too long. Oh, and send Gerry my regards.
Ireland is beautiful if you don't mind being wet all the time. And you have to like the color green or else you might as well be blind. I've never been anywhere else but here and Hogwarts. I'd love to go see the rest of the world!
Ugh, I might as well start a countdown. I don't know how much more of this I can take! I just want to be on that train.
Yours Sincerely, Shannon Green

Shannon,
Aw, Shannon! I feel awful. I really do! If I could I'd come right over there to Ireland and.....wait just a minute....I'm a witch. I have FlooPowder. Shannon, love, are you thinking what I'm thinking? Because I have a brilliant plan!
Well, I love the color green and I love the rain. Ireland sounds like the place for me! The rest of the world is probably just as boring. So, don't you worry about it.
I would start a countdown if I knew how to count, ha ha!

Dear Vera,
Floopowder, eh? Well you're welcome to come here! We can prowl the streets of Dublin together. Nobody's home but me since we've moved my father to the hospital full-time and my grandmother has moved back to Meath.
Bring a raincoat.
Yours Sincerely, Shannon Green

Shannon,
Good, you WERE thinking what I was thinking!
How's your Dad doing? Is everything alright? Hmmm...maybe I will stop by and you're more than welcome to pop in over here to. My parents don't care and Gerry would love to see you, it'd save him from being stuck with just me as his only company.
I'll bring a raincoat and some of my world famous Vera Claythorne cheer!

Dear Vera,
My father's doing worse this year unfortunately. Trying to solve his heart problems, the doctors put in a pacemaker. It only caused him more heart failure and he went into cardiac arrest a few times after the surgery, but at least now he's stable.
I'm not sure they can do much else for him, but he's being strong. Every time I visit he has a smile for me. I know he's getting worse all the time, but he doesn't want me to know. We'll just have to see how things play out.
Anyway, if you'd rather, or if you get sick of the rain here, we could go to Diagon Alley and snoop around there for a bit. You can bring Gerry too of course.
Yours Sincerely, Shannon Green

Shannon,
I'm sorry, Shannon. Your dad has always been so nice to me and I really do feel bad. If you see him tell him I hope he feels better, alright? And of course, you know I'm always here if you need me, love.
So, I'll be there soon I suppose and maybe I'll bring a bunt cake! Or ooh! I'll get some croissants! Yes, croissants....
Your Pal, Vera Claythorne
